Here is a list of the icons that show on your Samsung Galaxy A5’s screen and what they indicate.


Signal strength icon
Your local network providers signal strength is indicated by the signal strength icon. More bars indicate better signal.



Battery charging icon
This icon shows up whenever your battery is charging.

Battery Icon
This indicates the amount of power left in your battery; the shaded section indicates the power left in the battery. The bigger the colored section of the icon, the more power.

Flight mode icon
This icon shows up whenever you have your flight mode turned on.  

Network mode icon
This icon indicates the various network modes that your phone is connected to on the network, it may show 2G, 3G, LTE etc.
Call divert icon.
This icon indicates that you have call diversion turned on. Calls are routed to either voice mail or another phone number if this icon is showing on your notification area.

Missed call icon
This icon indicates that you have a missed call or an unanswered call.

SMS/MMS icon
This icon shows up in your notification area if you have received a new SMS/MMS.

Email icon
This icon indicates that you have received a new email message on your phone.

Silent mode icon
This icon indicates if you have silent mode turned on, it may also come up as a vibration icon should you have the vibration feature turned on.
Alarm icon
This icon indicates when an alarm is active on your Samsung Galaxy A5

Active data connection icon
This icon indicates whether or not your phone is connected to a data connection it also indicates the traffic of your data connection.
Bluetooth icon
This icon shows up in your notification area when your Bluetooth connection is turned on.

Wi-Fi icon
The Wi-Fi connection icon shows up in your notification area whenever your Wi-Fi connection is turned on; it also indicates when there are nearby Wi-Fi connections available.
