To sync content with the iPhone you need to have the latest version of iTunes and meet the system requirements which can be found on the Apple Website

1. Connect the iPhone to the PC via the supplied USB cable
2. Open iTunes
3. Select the iPhone from under Devices in the Source List on the left hand side of iTunes
4. Manage content syncing using the tabs (Summary, Info, Ringtones, Music, Podcasts, Audio, Photos)


Summary Pane - Provides General Syncing Options
1. Check for Update, checks and installs firmware updates available for the iPhone
2. Restore, allows the firmware to be re-written, fixing most issues. All user content and
settings will be removed. Requires an internet connection to download firmware (~200MB)
and activate the iPhone.
3. Automatically sync when the iPhone is connected, when checked automatically syncs
iPhone content with the selected information on the PC.
4. Sync only checked songs and videos, when checked does not include unchecked songs
when syncing. Can be used to exclude particular content from sync
5. Manually manage music and videos, allows management of content by dragging and
dropping files to and from the iPhone


Info Pane - Allows the user to set which applications sync content with the iPhone
1. Contacts, you can sync contacts from a supported address book. On a Mac, you can sync
contacts with Address Book and Yahoo!. Windows computers sync with the contacts
contained in Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007, Microsoft Outlook Express, Windows Contacts,
or Yahoo!. You can sync "All contacts" or "Selected groups" depending on the application
from which you sync your contacts.
2. Calendars, within this section, you can choose how iTunes syncs your calendars with the
iPhone. Macs use iCal, while Windows computers use Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007.
Other options in this section include syncing "All calendars" or "Selected calendars." You
can choose not to sync events older than a specified number of days, and choose the
calendar on the computer in which to store events created on the iPhone.
3. Mail Accounts, sync selected email accounts from a supported email client. On Macs, you
can sync email accounts with Mail or Microsoft Entourage. Windows computers sync with
email accounts contained in Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007, or Microsoft Outlook Express.
4. Web Browser, you can sync your web browser bookmarks to your iPhone. On Macs, sync
bookmarks with Safari; on Windows computers, sync bookmarks with Internet Windows
Explorer 6 (or later), or Safari 3.
5. Advanced, replace the contents of the iPhone with content from the computer during the
next synchronization.

Ringtones Pane; Allows the user to set which ringtones sync between the PC and iPhone
Music Pane; Allows the user to set which songs sync between the PC and iPhone
Photos Pane; Allows the user to set which photos, events and albums sync with the iPhone
Podcasts Pane; Allows the user to set which podcasts sync with the iPhone
Videos Pane; Allows the user to set which Movies and TV Shows sync with the iPhone
