Do you what numbers is your kid dialing on their phone? You might not always have access to your kid's phone to check the numbers they are calling but you restrict your them calling other numbers on their mobile phone except from your own number or numbers that you specify. Fixed Dialing can do that job for you. It is a security feature of a Subscriber Identity Module or SIM card that works like parental control. The steps below will tell you on how to enable Fixed Dialing on a Samsung Galaxy S II.


1. Tap Menu
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Call
4. Tap Addtional Settings
5. Tap Fixed Dialing Numbers
6. Tap Enable FDN
7. Enter PIN2 Code (usally 0000) and tap OK
8. Press the Home button

People sometimes play around with their phone and even they don't know what Fixed Dialing is for they will still activate it due to curiosity and the worst thing would be they tend to forget to turn it back off. Below are the steps on how to disable it.

1. Tap Menu
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Call
4. Tap Addtional Settings
5. Tap Fixed Dialing Numbers
6. Tap Disable FDN
7. Enter PIN2 Code (usally 0000) and tap OK
8. Press the Home button



If you want to see the numbers that are listed in Fixed Dialing you can follow the instruction below. These are also the steps on how to add fixed dialing numbers.

1. Tap Menu
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Call
4. Tap Addtional Settings
5. Tap Fixed Dialing Numbers
6. Tap FDN list
7. Tap Menu button
8. Select Add contact
9. Enter Name and Number
10. Tap Save
11. Enter PIN2 Code  (usally 0000)
12. Tap OK
13. Press the Home button



And to delete fixed dialing numbers, do the following steps below.

1. Tap Menu
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap Call
4. Tap Addtional Settings
5. Tap Fixed Dialing Numbers
6. Tap FDN list
7. Tap desired contact
8. Tap Delete contact
9. Enter PIN2 Code
10. Tap OK
11. Press the Home button



Please remember that Fixed Dialing does not restrict access to emergency numbers such as 112 or 000 etc.
